Plastic, in grey. That makes it a non-metallic fitting, so it will not serve as part of an equipment grounding path the way a steel or die-cast liquidtight connector would. If your installation relies on the conduit and fittings for bonding, use a metallic connector instead and run this one only where a separate equipment grounding conductor is pulled.
2) Can I use the Steel City LT straight liquidtight connector on a motor or outdoor equipment whip?
It is a liquidtight connector, so it is built to seal the conduit to the enclosure against moisture, which is the usual reason a whip to a motor, rooftop unit or pump uses liquidtight flexible conduit. Being plastic, pair it with a separate equipment grounding conductor in the whip. Trade sizes offered are 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch.
3) Does the LT501-1 liquidtight connector come with a locknut and sealing ring?
The Steel City LT-1 is sold as the straight liquidtight connector itself. Confirm what the enclosure needs on the inside, a locknut and, where the box is exposed to weather, a sealing gasket at the knockout, and order those separately if your kit does not already have them on hand.
