Sure-Loc SA-SET-PH1 26 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the Sierra Series paper holder rated for commercial restrooms or just homes?
Residential only. Sure-Loc lists the Sierra paper holder set as a residential bath accessory, so it suits single-family homes, condos and apartment units rather than high-traffic public restrooms. For a commercial washroom you want a heavier grab-and-pull holder, not this.
2) What is the closest single post equivalent to the Sure-Loc Sierra Series paper holder set from another brand?
The Sure-Loc Sierra Series Single Post Paper Holder Set uses a single post configuration. The closest single post alternatives are the Deltana 55D2001 Toilet Paper Holder, Single Post, from the 55D Series in solid brass, and the Deltana BBN2001 Toilet Paper Holder, Single Post, from the BBN Series. Both hold the roll on one post the same way the Sierra set does, so either swaps in on the same wall location for a homeowner or remodeler replacing a single post holder.
3) I need a double post holder instead of a single post - what should I order?
The Sure-Loc Sierra Series set is a single post design, so it will not give you a double post arrangement. For a two post holder, the Deltana 98C2001 from the 98C Series is a classic double post toilet paper holder in solid brass. Double post styles capture the roll between two side arms rather than on one cantilevered post.
4) Single post or double post toilet paper holder, which should I pick?
A single post holder like the Sierra set holds the roll on one arm, so the roll slides on and off from the open end with one hand, which is what most people want in a home bath. A double post cradles the roll between two arms and keeps it captive, which some remodelers prefer for a traditional look; the Deltana 98C2001 Classic is a double post option if that is the style you are after.
5) Can I match this paper holder with the towel bars and rings in the same bathroom?
Yes. The Sierra paper holder set is part of the Sure-Loc Sierra bath hardware collection and is meant to be paired with the other Sierra accessories, so you can add towel bars and rings later and keep the same styling. Stay in the same finish code (15 or 26) when you do.
6) What are the alternatives if I want a solid brass toilet paper holder instead?
The Sierra set is Sure-Loc's residential coordinated option. If solid brass is the requirement, Deltana's 55D2001 single post and BBN2001 single post are solid brass single post holders, and the 88DTPH is another solid brass Deltana option. Emtek also offers bar style paper holders in Modern Brass, Traditional Brass, Transitional Brass and Sandcast Bronze if you want the roll on a pivoting bar rather than a post.
7) I manage apartment units and want one paper holder across all of them. Is this a reasonable standard?
It works for multi-family residential turns, which Sure-Loc lists among the intended applications for the Sierra set, and the two finish choices (satin nickel or polished chrome) cover most unit packages. Keep in mind it is specified as residential grade, so for shared or lobby restrooms in the same building you should spec something heavier.
8) What is a bar style paper holder and how does it differ from the Sure-Loc Sierra single post set?
The Sure-Loc Sierra Series set is a single post holder, where the roll sits on one projecting post. Bar style holders instead carry the roll on a horizontal bar between two supports. Emtek offers bar style paper holders across several finish families - the Modern Brass Paper Holder - Bar Style, the Traditional Brass Paper Holder - Bar Style, the Transitional Brass Paper Holder - Bar Style, and the Sandcast Bronze Paper Holder - Bar Style. Bar style typically requires mounting points at both ends, so confirm your wall backing before switching from a single post design.
9) Which paper holders use a roller tube instead of a post, for a rental unit where tenants swap rolls often?
The Sure-Loc Sierra Series set is a single post design with no tube. If you want a holder with a replaceable roller, the Orca Hardware 2752 from the 27-Cypress Series and the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely from the 48-Blakely Series both include a plastic tube. A tube style is worth considering for multi-family turnovers since the tube itself is the wear part rather than the mounted holder.
10) I want to match a solid brass bath suite - is the Sure-Loc Sierra set the right choice?
The Sure-Loc Sierra Series Single Post Paper Holder Set is offered in 15 Satin Nickel and 26 Polished Chrome and is designed to coordinate with other Sierra Series bath hardware. If your suite is built around solid brass pieces, the Deltana 88DTPH from the 88 Series and the Deltana 55D2001 from the 55D Series are both solid brass toilet paper holders, and Emtek's Traditional Brass and Sandcast Bronze bar style holders sit in their own coordinated bath hardware families. Choose the line that matches the rest of your accessories rather than mixing series.
11) Is the Sure-Loc Sierra paper holder set appropriate for a commercial restroom?
The Sure-Loc Sierra Series Single Post Paper Holder Set is designated residential and is intended for single-family homes, condominiums, and multi-family bath installations. For a public commercial restroom you would generally specify a commercial washroom accessory instead. Within residential-style holders, the Orca Hardware 2752 and Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely use a plastic tube that can be replaced independently, which some property managers prefer for high-turnover units.
12) Is there a plastic roller tube in the Sure-Loc Sierra holder?
No. It is a single post design, so the roll sits directly on the post with no spring-loaded roller tube. If you want a holder with a plastic tube the roll spins on, the Orca Hardware 2752 and the 4852 Blakely are both built that way.
13) Is there a euro style open-end paper holder as an alternative to the Sure-Loc Sierra set?
Yes. The Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl from the 36-Swirl Series and the Orca Hardware 5255 Ripple from the 52-Ripple Series are both euro style toilet paper holders. Euro style holders load the roll from the open end rather than seating it on an enclosed post like the Sure-Loc Sierra Series single post set, which suits guest baths and powder rooms where a lighter profile is wanted.
14) Does this paper holder need power or any wiring?
No wiring. The Sierra single post paper holder is a non-electronic mechanical accessory that mounts to the wall, so no outlet, transformer or battery is involved.
