Sure-Loc SM-SET-PH1 15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the Sure-Loc Somma paper holder rated for commercial restrooms?
No. The Somma Series paper holder set is a residential-grade product, meant for bathrooms in single-family homes, condos, and multi-family units. For a high-traffic public restroom you want commercial washroom accessories instead.
2) What is a direct single post alternative to the Sure-Loc Somma paper holder set?
The Sure-Loc Somma Series paper holder set uses a single post design. Two direct single post alternatives are the Deltana 55D2001 single post toilet paper holder from the 55D Series in solid brass, and the Deltana BBN2001 single post holder from the BBN Series. All three hold the roll on one post rather than spanning a bar between two posts.
3) If the bathroom needs a double post holder instead of a single post, what should I use?
The Sure-Loc Somma Series set is built around a single post configuration, so for a two-post opening look at the Deltana 98C2001 from the 98C Series, a classic double post toilet paper holder in solid brass. Note that it is a limited item.
4) What is the difference between a single post and a double post toilet paper holder?
A single post holds the roll on one arm, so the roll slides on and off from the open end, which makes changes quick and keeps the mounting footprint small. The Sure-Loc Somma set is the single post type. A double post design, like the Deltana 98C2001 Classic, captures the roll between two arms on a spring spindle. Either works on a standard wall; the single post is the simpler mount.
5) Will the Somma paper holder coordinate with other bath accessories from the same line?
Yes. It belongs to Sure-Loc's Ridgecrest Collection within the Somma Series, so towel bars, rings, and hooks from that same collection share the styling and finish codes. Ordering the whole bath in one collection is how you get a matched set across a unit or a spec home.
6) What are the alternatives to the Sure-Loc Somma paper holder if I want solid brass or a bar style?
For solid brass single post, Deltana's 55D2001 (55D Series) and BBN2001 (BBN Series) are the closest equivalents. If you would rather have a bar-style holder than a post, Emtek offers bar-style paper holders in Modern Brass, Traditional Brass, Transitional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze. Orca Hardware's 2752 Cypress and 4852 Blakely use a plastic tube roller, and the 3655 Swirl and 5255 Ripple are euro-style holders.
7) I manage rental units and need one paper holder spec across the whole building. Is this a good fit?
It suits multi-family and rental work. The Somma set is residential-grade, ships as a complete set, and comes in four finish codes, so you can standardize on one finish across every unit and reorder the same part when a tenant damages one. For lobby or shared public restrooms, step up to commercial washroom accessories.
8) What is the difference between the Sure-Loc Somma paper holder and Emtek's bar style paper holders?
The Sure-Loc Somma Series set is a single post holder in the Ridgecrest Collection. Emtek's paper holders are bar style and are offered across several bath hardware families, including Modern Brass, Transitional Brass, Traditional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze. Choose the Emtek bar style if the roll should ride on a bar between posts and you are matching an Emtek trim family; choose the Somma set if you are coordinating with Ridgecrest pieces.
9) For rental turns where the roller gets replaced often, is there a simpler paper holder than the Sure-Loc Somma set?
The Somma Series set is a single post design intended for residential bathrooms including rental and vacation properties. If you prefer a holder supplied with a replaceable plastic roller tube, the Orca Hardware 2752 in the 27-Cypress Series and the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely in the 48-Blakely Series are both toilet paper holders furnished with a plastic tube.
10) I need a paper holder in flat black to match matte black bath trim - does the Sure-Loc Somma set offer it or do I need another brand?
The Sure-Loc Somma Series paper holder set is offered in FBL Flat Black, along with 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, and SB Satin Brass, so you can stay within the Ridgecrest Collection. If the trim family calls for a bronze look instead, the Emtek Sandcast Bronze bar style paper holder is the bronze-family option among the alternatives.
11) Does this toilet paper holder need any wiring or batteries?
None. The Somma paper holder set is purely mechanical with no electronic components, so there is no power, wiring, or battery to plan for. It mounts to the wall and that is the end of the install.
12) Which alternatives suit a modern euro-style bathroom if the Somma styling is not the right look?
The Sure-Loc Somma Series set carries the clean lines of the Ridgecrest Collection. For a euro-style profile instead, the Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl in the 36-Swirl Series and the Orca Hardware 5255 Ripple in the 52-Ripple Series are both euro toilet paper holders with decorative swirl and ripple detailing respectively.
