Thin-wall tubing has no sealant and no insulation-thickness rating, so it is for bundling, strain relief, and low-voltage identification only.
6) Will a 12 inch tube cover my splice, or do I need a longer piece?
Each 46-357 tube is 12 inches before recovery, which has to span the connector plus overlap onto sound jacket at both ends.
