It is a male NPT threaded fitting, so it screws straight into a threaded hub, coupling or NPT-tapped enclosure opening. If your box has a plain knockout rather than a threaded hub, you need a locknut-style MC connector instead, not this one.
3) Can I use these aluminum MC connectors in a hazardous or classified area?
The body is copper free aluminum, which is the material spec normally called for where copper content is restricted in classified locations. Confirm the area classification against the connector's own listing marking before you install; the material alone does not qualify an opening.
4) Will an aluminum MC fitting corrode against a steel enclosure?
Aluminum against steel is a dissimilar metal pair and can corrode in wet or coastal exposure. In dry indoor work the copper free aluminum AMC fitting is normal practice; in damp or corrosive environments, spec a steel or malleable iron MC connector in the same trade size instead.
