The adapter itself is a thread conversion piece between PG29 and NPT. The seal at the NPT end comes from the taper of the NPT thread plus pipe sealant or tape, and the seal at the PG29 end comes from the gland's own gasket or O-ring. Plan on sealant and, if the enclosure calls for it, a sealing washer on the gland side.
