Metallics JTHD50234RH – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use a 2-3/4 inch threaded rod stud to hang conduit from a concrete ceiling?
That is what this one is intended for. The Metallics JTHD50234RH is a short 1/2 inch concrete vertical-mount threaded stud, so it threads into a concrete anchor or insert overhead and gives you 2-3/4 inches of rod to pick up a beam clamp, strut nut, or hanger. For drops longer than a few inches you want continuous threaded rod cut to length instead of a stud this short.
2) Is the Metallics 1/2 x 2-3/4 threaded rod zinc plated for indoor electrical work?
Yes, the JTHD50234RH is a zinc plated steel threaded rod. Zinc plating suits dry interior work such as hanging strut, boxes, or conduit racks indoors; for wet or exterior runs choose a stainless or hot dip galvanized rod instead.
