1) Is 8-32 threaded rod strong enough to hang conduit or heavier electrical equipment?
8-32 is a small machine-screw thread, suited to light fixture suspension, small box and device mounting, and light channel work. For conduit racks, strut trapeze hangers, or anything carrying real weight, step up to 1/4-20, 3/8-16 or 1/2-13 rod, which is what trapeze and heavier hanger hardware is sized for.
2) Is zinc-plated threaded rod okay for outdoor or wet locations?
Zinc plating on the TRS4/6 is a dry-location finish. It handles indoor electrical and mechanical hanging fine, but in exterior, damp or washdown areas the plating will eventually corrode. For those openings use stainless or hot-dip galvanized rod instead.

Cut with a bandsaw or abrasive wheel, then chase the cut end with an 8-32 nut to clear the burr so the nut threads on clean. Touch up the bare cut with cold galvanizing compound if the area is anything other than dry.
5) What nuts and washers do I need with the TRS4/6 rod?
Nothing is supplied with the rod itself, so plan on 8-32 hex nuts, flat washers and any couplings separately. Match the plating, zinc nuts with this zinc rod, so you don't set up dissimilar metal corrosion at the joint.
