Metallics DRT24VOH14 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many rods come in a pack of DRT24VOH14?
Ten rods per pack. Worth knowing before you order for a hanger layout, since a single order unit covers ten drops rather than one.
2) Can I use the DRT24VOH14 rod for hanging conduit and electrical boxes?
Yes, that's the intent. Metallics lists the DRT24VOH14 as electrical fastening hardware, and a 1/4-20 x 24 inch rod is the usual size for light trapeze hangers, conduit clamps, box supports, and small raceway drops. For heavier runs or longer spans, step up to 3/8-16 or 1/2-13 rod instead.
3) Do nuts or washers come with the DRT24VOH14 threaded rod?
The pack is rod only, ten pieces of 1/4-20 x 24 inch. Order 1/4-20 hex nuts, flat washers, and whatever anchor or beam clamp you are hanging from separately.
4) Is the correct part number DRT24VOH14 for the 24 inch 1/4-20 rod?
DRT24VOH14 is the Metallics manufacturer part number for the 1/4-20 x 24 inch threaded rod supplied ten per pack. Quote that number when ordering or matching to a submittal.
5) Can the 24 inch threaded rod be cut shorter for a tighter drop?
Yes. Continuous 1/4-20 thread runs the full 24 inches, so you can cut a rod to any shorter drop length on site and still thread a nut onto either end. Clean the cut end with a file or die so nuts start without cross-threading.
