Metallics MTW12 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What gauge and length is the Metallics MTW12 tie wire?
The Metallics MTW12 is 12 gauge tie wire, 165 feet to the reel, supplied one reel per unit. It ships on a reel rather than in a coil, so it feeds off as you pull it.
2) Is MTW12 tie wire the right thing for bundling conduit and hanging pipe on an electrical job?
That is what it is for. The MTW12 is 12 gauge soft tie wire sold through the electrical line, used for tying and bundling conduit runs, supporting light hanger work, and general lashing on site. Heavier gauges hold more load; 12 gauge is the common all-around size for conduit tie-offs.
3) How is the MTW12 tie wire packaged, and what do I get when I order one?
One order is a single reel holding 165 feet of 12 gauge wire. If you are stocking a truck or a crib, order by the reel; there is no partial-length option.
