Metallics MTW18 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How much wire is on a reel of Metallics MTW18 tie wire?
The MTW18 comes as a single reel holding 350 feet of 18 gauge tie wire. The reel format lets you pull and cut lengths as you go rather than working from a coil.
2) Is 18 gauge tie wire the right size for tying off conduit and hanger runs?
18 gauge is the common all-purpose size electricians keep on the truck for temporary tie-offs, bundling conduit and supporting runs during layout. It is thin enough to twist by hand or with a quick pair of pliers and still hold a bundle. If you need something that carries real load, that is a job for strut clamps or hangers, not tie wire.
3) What does the MTW18 part number get me, one reel or a case?
MTW18 is one reel. The listed pack is a single reel of 350 feet, so if you are stocking multiple gang boxes or trucks, order the count you need.
