Mustee 680WHTBB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Mustee 680WHTBB a bathtub or just the wall surround?
It is the wall surround only, not a tub. The Topaz 680WHTBB is a white fiberglass bathtub wall kit sized for a 30 x 60 inch alcove, and it ships with backer boards. You still need the tub itself, plus the valve and drain, to finish the opening.
2) What do the backer boards on the Mustee 680WHTBB do?
They stiffen the fiberglass panels behind the wall. The 680WHTBB version of the Topaz wall ships with backer boards included, so the panels feel solid rather than flexing when someone leans on them, and grab bars or accessories have something behind the surface. If you order a Topaz wall without the BB designation, those boards are not part of the package.
3) Is a fiberglass tub wall like the Mustee Topaz durable enough for apartment turns?
Fiberglass surrounds like the Topaz are the usual choice for multi-family and rental turnovers: the panels are light enough for one person to set, they go in over a framed alcove without tile work, and the white finish matches the standard white tubs already in most units. The backer board version adds rigidity where tenants lean on the walls or a grab bar gets mounted later.
4) Does the Mustee 680WHTBB come in colors other than white?
White only. The Topaz 680WHTBB is sold as a single configuration, a white fiberglass 30 x 60 wall with backer boards, so there is no color or size option to pick on the order.
