Mustee T6030RBT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Mustee Topaz T6030RBT a soaking tub or a shower tub?
It is a soaking tub, sold without an integral shower wall. You get the tub only, so a surround, tile, or a separate three-piece wall kit is a separate line on the order, along with the tub waste and overflow and the tub/shower valve and spout. Buyers replacing a one-piece tub-shower unit should know this is not that; a one-piece unit will not fit through most finished door openings anyway, which is why alcove remodels usually go tub plus surround.
2) What size alcove does the Mustee Topaz T6030RBT bathtub fit?
It is a 30 x 60 tub, which is the standard alcove opening in most apartments and single-family baths in the US. If you are replacing a tub in a three-wall alcove framed at 60 inches, this drops into the same footprint. Anything wider or a corner or freestanding install is a different unit.
3) What color is Biscuit on the Mustee Topaz tub, and will it match a white toilet?
Biscuit is an off-white, warmer and slightly darker than a true white. It will not match a bright white fixture side by side. If the rest of the bath is white, order the white version of the tub; if you are matching older almond or bone-toned fixtures, biscuit is the closer of the two.
4) Is the Mustee T6030RBT a fiberglass tub or acrylic, and does that hold up in a rental?
The Topaz T6030RBT is fiberglass. For property managers turning apartments, fiberglass is the usual pick because it is light enough for one or two people to carry up a stairwell and set without rigging, which keeps the turn short. It needs a fully bedded, level base under it, and non-abrasive cleaners only, since scouring pads dull the surface.
5) Does the Mustee T6030RBT come with a drain and overflow?
No. The tub ships as the shell; the waste and overflow assembly, the trip lever or lift-and-turn stopper, and the P-trap are all ordered separately. Match the waste kit to a right-hand drain layout and to the finish of the rest of the trim.
6) What is the Mustee part number for the biscuit right-hand 30x60 Topaz tub?
Mustee model T6030RBT. The suffix reads as 60 x 30 Topaz, R for right-hand drain, BT for biscuit. Give a supplier that number and the hand and color are already specified, which avoids the most common tub re-order.
