Mustee T6030LBT TOPAZ FIBERGLASS BATHTUB BISCUIT LEFT HAND 30x60

Drain sits at the left end of the Mustee T6030LBT Topaz tub. Stand at the front of the alcove facing the tub: the outlet and overhead valve wall are on your left. That fixes your rough-in, so if the existing waste line comes up on the right end of the alcove, this is the wrong hand and you want the right hand version of the same 60 x 30 Topaz tub instead of re-running the drain.

The Topaz T6030LBT is a 30 x 60 inch bathtub, which is the common alcove footprint for a three wall recess. Frame opening should be checked wall to wall before demo, but a standard 60 inch recess with 30 inches of depth is what this tub is built around.

Biscuit is the finish on this Topaz tub, an off white with a warm cast rather than a bright white. It reads close to bone and to some almond fixtures, but biscuit is its own standard color and shades vary by manufacturer. If you are matching a lavatory and toilet across a multi-family rehab, order one tub and hold it against the fixtures you already stock before committing the rest of the units.

Fiberglass construction on the Topaz T6030LBT. That makes it light enough for one or two people to walk up a stairwell and set in a rough opening without rigging, which is why it turns up in apartment and rental turnovers. Fiberglass surfaces are refinishable but scratch more readily than a cast material, so for high traffic openings expect to specify non abrasive cleaners with the maintenance crew.

Order it as Mustee T6030LBT. The T6030 is the 30 x 60 Topaz tub, the L is the left hand drain, and BT is the biscuit color, so the right hand and white versions carry different suffixes. Quote the full T6030LBT string on the PO, since drain hand and color are not field changeable once the unit is on site.

The T6030LBT is sold as the tub alone. Waste and overflow, the tub filler, and the shower valve are separate line items, so a plumber ordering for a full turnover needs the W and O kit and the trim on the same order to avoid a second trip. Match the W and O finish to the tub color only if it is a visible face plate.

The Topaz T6030LBT is a soaking tub, meaning the tub only, with no integral wall surround. Pick it when the walls are getting tile or a separate three piece surround, or when you are replacing just the tub in an existing tiled alcove. If you are gutting to studs in a rental and want one piece to install and nothing to caulk at the wall joint, a tub and shower combination unit is the better call, though a one piece will not fit through most finished door openings.
