1) Will the Topaz 472 45 degree liquidtight connector work with regular flexible metal conduit, or only liquidtight?
Liquidtight only. The Topaz 472 is built for liquidtight flexible metal conduit (LFMC), and the sealing gland and ferrule that make the connection are sized to the jacket on liquidtight, not to bare FMC (Greenfield). Running standard FMC into it won't clamp or seal correctly. For a dry indoor FMC run into a box you want a squeeze or screw-in FMC connector instead.
2) Do I still need a bushing with the Topaz 472 liquidtight connector?
No separate bushing needed. The 472 has an insulated throat built in, so the conductors are already protected from the metal edge as they come through. That is the whole point of the insulated throat, it saves you buying and installing a plastic bushing on the inside of the box.
