TOTO LT569#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size cutout do I need for the TOTO LT569 undermount lavatory?
The LT569 basin measures 17 by 14 inches, and the overall sink body runs 19-1/4 by 16-1/4 inches with a 7-1/2 inch height. Template the opening off the 17 x 14 basin dimension; the extra material outside that is the rim the counter bears on, so your cutout has to sit inside the 19-1/4 x 16-1/4 footprint. TOTO includes a mounting template in the carton, so lay that on the underside of the slab before you cut.
2) Do I need extra hardware to mount a TOTO LT569 sink under a granite or marble top?
Yes, and it is a separate order. For marble and granite type countertops TOTO calls for part THU410, which is not in the box. On other counter materials the mounting hardware that ships with the sink does the job. Budget for the THU410 on any stone job so the installer isn't stopped at the counter.
3) Does the TOTO LT569 come with a drain?
No drain is in the carton. The sink ships with the bowl, mounting hardware and an installation template only; the compatible grid drain is a separate purchase. Order the drain and the P-trap on the same line so the trim shows up with the fixture.
4) Will a 17 x 14 undermount lavatory fit a standard 22 inch deep vanity top?
It fits with room to spare. The sink body is 16-1/4 inches front to back overall, which leaves clearance in front of and behind the bowl on a typical 22 inch deep vanity slab for the faucet drilling and the front edge. Depth below the deck is 7-1/2 inches, so check that against the drawer or trap arm below before you commit, especially on ADA or shallow-cabinet installs.
5) Does the TOTO LT569 have an overflow?
Yes, a concealed front overflow. Nothing shows on the visible face of the bowl, which is why the oval reads clean, but the sink drains through the overflow path if a tap is left running. That matters for spec: pair it with an overflow-type grid drain, not a no-overflow drain, or the overflow will have nowhere to discharge.
6) Is the TOTO LT569 drilled for a faucet, or does the faucet mount in the counter?
Undermount lavatories like the LT569 have no faucet deck of their own, so the faucet holes get drilled in the countertop, not the sink. That means you choose your hole configuration (single hole, 4 inch centerset, or 8 inch widespread) at the fabricator, and the sink itself does not limit you. The rimless oval shape is what makes this work: the bowl sits fully below the slab.
7) Is the TOTO LT569 the same shade of white as other TOTO fixtures?
The LT569#01 is Cotton White, TOTO's #01 finish code. If you are matching a toilet or tub in a multi-unit building, look for the same #01 suffix on those model numbers and the color will match across the TOTO line. That is the single finish this lavatory is built in.
8) Is a rimless oval undermount like the LT569 a good choice for a commercial or multi-family restroom?
The rimless oval works well where cleanability matters. With no rim above the deck there is no seam collecting soap and grime at the counter line, and the counter wipes straight into the bowl. The tradeoff versus a drop-in is fabrication: the slab has to be cut and polished for an undermount, and stone tops need the THU410 hardware. If you are replacing sinks in an existing laminate top, a drop-in is the simpler swap because it hides the cut edge.
9) How heavy is a TOTO LT569 sink, and can one person set it?
17.4 pounds. One person can carry and hold it, but undermount setting is still a two-person job in practice: someone supports the bowl from below while the clips and adhesive are set from above. Weight is not what drives the mounting method here, the counter material is, which is why stone tops need the THU410 support hardware.
10) Will the TOTO LT569 give me enough basin for a heavy-use washroom?
The basin is a wide 17 by 14 inch oval with a large backsplash area, so splash-out onto the counter is limited compared with a small round bowl. At 7-1/2 inches deep overall it holds water well for hand washing in traffic. For hospitality and multi-family common restrooms that footprint is the usual working size.
