TOTO TET2UBIA#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET2UBIA#SS flush valve for a toilet or a urinal?
Toilets. The TET2UBIA#SS is a concealed electronic flush valve rated at 1.0 gallon per flush for water closet use, not urinal use. Urinals run much lower flush volumes and take a urinal-specific valve, so don't substitute this one on a urinal fixture.
2) What does "concealed" mean on the TOTO TET2UBIA#SS flush valve, and what does the wall need to look like?
Concealed means the valve body and its electronics sit behind the finished wall, with only the sensor plate exposed on the room side. That requires an accessible chase or carrier space behind the fixture for the valve and its wiring, plus a way to reach it later for service. If you cannot open the wall behind the water closet, an exposed flush valve is the better choice for that opening.
3) Will a 1.0 gpf flush valve work on my existing toilet bowl?
Only if the bowl itself is engineered for 1.0 gallon per flush. Flushometer bowls are rated for a specific flush volume, and feeding a 1.6 gpf bowl with this 1.0 gpf valve typically leaves carry-out and bowl wash short. Match the valve rating to the bowl rating stamped or listed for the fixture before ordering.
4) Is the TOTO TET2UBIA#SS a sensor-operated flush valve or a manual one?
Sensor operated. It is TOTO's IoT EFV (electronic flush valve), so flushing is hands-free rather than by handle or push button. Plan for power and a controls path to the valve location as part of the rough-in, the same as any other electronic flushometer.
5) What is the TOTO part number to order for the IoT concealed 1.0 gpf toilet flush valve?
Order TOOT's TET2UBIA#SS. The #SS suffix is the finish designation on the exposed sensor plate, and it is the only configuration this model is offered in.
