TOTO TET2LBI231#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET2LBI231#SS a complete toilet or just the flush valve?
It's the flush valve only, not a fixture. The TET2LBI231#SS is a concealed electronic flush valve for a toilet, so you're pairing it with a compatible bowl and carrier that are ordered separately.
2) Does the TOTO TET2LBI231 flush valve mount in the wall or exposed on the pipe?
Concealed. The valve body sits behind the finished wall with only the sensor plate showing, which means the rough-in has to be planned before the wall is closed. If you're retrofitting an opening that already has an exposed chrome flushometer on a visible supply, a concealed valve is not a drop-in swap.
3) Can I use this TOTO concealed flush valve on a urinal?
No. The TET2LBI231#SS is built for water closet service at 1.28 gallons per flush. A urinal needs a valve set for a much lower volume, so you'd be specifying a separate urinal flush valve for those fixtures.
4) Is the TOTO TET2LBI231#SS a sensor-operated hands-free flush valve?
Yes, it's an electronic flush valve (EFV) rather than a manual handle, so the flush triggers off the sensor. For restrooms in schools, healthcare, and high-traffic public buildings, that's the reason to spec it over a lever flushometer, and it's why the wall pocket needs power run to it.
5) What is the TOTO part number I should order for the concealed 1.28 gpf toilet flush valve?
TET2LBI231#SS. The #SS suffix is the finish designation on TOTO's part numbering, and it's the only configuration this valve is built in, so there's no separate finish or trim code to specify with the order.
