TOTO TEU2LAI4#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TEU2LAI4#SS a urinal flush valve or a water closet valve?
It's a urinal flush valve. The TEU2LAI4#SS is TOTO's concealed IoT electronic flush valve (EFV) for urinals, rated at 0.5 gallons per flush. If you're flushing a water closet, this is the wrong valve for the fixture, you need a WC-specific flush valve with the matching gallons-per-flush rating.
2) What does "concealed" mean on the TOTO TEU2LAI4#SS urinal flush valve, and does it mount behind the wall?
Concealed means the valve body and sensor electronics sit behind the finished wall, with only the cover plate exposed in the room. That requires a chase or rough-in cavity behind the urinal. If your urinal is on a solid wall with the supply exposed, you want an exposed-mount electronic flush valve instead, not this concealed version.
3) Will a 0.5 gpf urinal flush valve work on my existing urinal fixture?
The TEU2LAI4#SS flushes 0.5 gallons, so the urinal bowl has to be designed to clear at 0.5 gpf. Older 1.0 gpf and 1.5 gpf urinals generally won't evacuate properly on half a gallon and you'll get carry-over and staining. Check the gpf rating cast or labeled on the fixture before you pair it with this valve.
4) Can I standardize all my restroom flush valves on the TEU2LAI4#SS?
Only the urinals. The TEU2LAI4#SS is a urinal-specific valve at 0.5 gpf in a concealed mounting, so a mixed restroom with water closets will need a separate WC flush valve to go with it. For a full-building standardization program, spec this one for the urinal line and pair it with the matching TOTO WC electronic valve so the IoT platform stays consistent across both.
5) Is the TOTO TEU2LAI4#SS available in more than one finish or model variation?
It's sold as a single configuration, TEU2LAI4#SS, the concealed 0.5 gpf urinal IoT flush valve. There is no second finish or flow rate under this model number, so if you need an exposed valve, a different gpf, or a water closet version, that's a separate TOTO model.
