TOTO THU765 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the TOTO THU765 auto flush kit work with any WASHLET+ toilet?
No. The THU765 is for Dual Flush WASHLET+ toilets only. To get the automatic flush working you need three things together: a TOTO Dual Flush one-piece or two-piece T40 WASHLET+ toilet, an Auto Flush compatible WASHLET+ electronic bidet seat, and this kit. On a single flush WASHLET+ model, or with a bidet seat that is not Auto Flush compatible, it will not operate.
2) I already have a T40 WASHLET+ toilet installed. Can I add automatic flushing later without replacing the toilet?
Yes, that is exactly what the THU765 kit is for. It is a retrofit upgrade for a compatible dual flush T40 WASHLET+ toilet already in place, so the fixture stays. The other half of the equation is the seat: the WASHLET on it has to be an Auto Flush compatible model, because the seat is what senses the user and tells the kit to flush. If the existing seat is not an Auto Flush model, budget for that too.
3) What part number do I order for TOTO dual flush auto flush, and does the kit cover both one-piece and two-piece toilets?
The part is TOTO THU765, sold as a single kit with no finish or size choices to specify. It covers both dual flush one-piece and two-piece T40 WASHLET+ toilets, so the same number works either way.
4) For a restroom where I need touchless flushing, is a TOTO auto flush kit the right approach or do I need a commercial flushometer?
Two different animals. The THU765 works only inside TOTO's WASHLET+ dual flush tank-type system, adding a hands-free flush after each use on a residential-style T40 toilet with an Auto Flush WASHLET seat. It does not convert an ordinary tank toilet, and it is not a valve for a tankless commercial bowl. If the fixture is a wall-hung or floor-mount bowl fed directly off the supply with no tank, you need a sensor flush valve instead, not this kit.
5) Does the THU765 replace the flush buttons on the toilet, or do they still work?
The kit adds an automatic flush after each use so nobody has to touch a button or handle. TOTO describes it as an upgrade to the existing dual flush toilet rather than a replacement of the flush controls, and the hygiene benefit is that a flush happens even when a user forgets. For facilities managing shared or guest restrooms, that consistency is usually the reason to spec it.
6) What is the TOTO THU765 auto flush kit made of?
Plastic. It is a tank-side flush actuation kit rather than a load-bearing metal part, which is why weight is not a factor when mounting it.
