TOTO THU767 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the TOTO THU767 auto flush kit work with any WASHLET+ toilet?
No. The THU767 kit is built for 1.28 GPF WASHLET+ T40 toilets only, in either one-piece or two-piece form. If the toilet on the job is a different flush rate or outside the T40 line, this kit is not the right part for it.
2) What else do I need to buy to make TOTO auto flush actually work?
Three pieces have to be present together: a TOTO 1.28 GPF one-piece or two-piece T40 WASHLET+ toilet, an Auto Flush compatible WASHLET+ electronic bidet seat, and the THU767 kit itself. The kit is the link between the seat and the toilet, not a standalone flush device, so ordering it without an auto flush capable WASHLET+ seat leaves you with nothing that flushes on its own.
3) Is the TOTO THU767 a sensor flushometer for commercial restrooms?
No, and this is the common mix-up. The THU767 is a tank-toilet accessory that triggers a flush on a 1.28 GPF WASHLET+ T40 fixture through the bidet seat's sensing. A commercial sensor flushometer is a valve on a tankless bowl fed by the supply line and does not involve a WASHLET seat at all. For a restroom with flush valves on the wall, you want a flushometer, not this kit.
4) For a property with several TOTO WASHLET+ restrooms, is the THU767 the same part for every one?
It is one part number, THU767, with no finish or size options to specify, so ordering across a fleet of openings is a single line item. The variable is not the kit, it is the fixtures: each toilet has to be a 1.28 GPF T40 WASHLET+ and each seat has to be an Auto Flush compatible WASHLET+. Any bathroom in the group running a different flush rate will not take it.
5) Is the TOTO auto flush kit metal or plastic?
Plastic. That is the kit hardware itself, which sits with the toilet's own trim rather than in a wet, abraded, or exposed position.
6) Why would a facility spec a hands-free flush kit instead of just a flush handle?
Touchless flushing removes the handle or button as a contact point, which is why it gets specified in healthcare, hospitality, education, and shared multi-family baths. It also flushes after every use whether or not the user remembers to, which matters in high-traffic public restrooms where an unflushed bowl becomes a service call.
