1) Will TownSteel m-Kestros trim fit a Von Duprin exit device?
Yes. The m-Kestros mechanical trim mounts to TownSteel's own exit devices and to Von Duprin 22 and 99 Series devices. That is what makes it useful for standardizing trim appearance across a building where some openings already carry Von Duprin hardware and others are getting TownSteel devices.
2) What does the R in the MKS-08-R trim part number mean, and which exit devices does it cover?
The letter is the device fit type. R covers rim, surface vertical rod, less-bottom-rod, and 3-point devices. If you have a mortise exit device you need the M version instead, and a concealed vertical rod device takes the C version. Ordering the wrong letter means the trim will not drive the device.
3) What is the difference between the m-Kestros entrance, night latch, passage and dummy functions?
Four mechanical functions. KES908 Entrance is lever operated with a key that locks or unlocks the trim, which is the one most exterior staff doors get. KES903 Night Latch has no lever function, the key retracts the latch and the key is removable only when locked. KES914 Passage is always active and takes no cylinder. KES902 Dummy is rigid, so entry is only possible when the push bar is dogged down.

The SC configuration uses a standard Schlage 6-pin C keyway mortise cylinder, which is what lets it drop into most existing Schlage-keyed master key systems. If your facility runs interchangeable cores instead, the m-Kestros is also offered in SFIC6 and SFIC7 small format, SLFIC Schlage large format, and CLFIC Corbin large format prep. Passage function takes no cylinder at all.
