1) Will the Trimco 1018 pull plate cover the old screw holes from the pull I'm replacing?
That depends on the center-to-center spacing of the existing pull. The 1018 comes with either an 8 inch or a 10 inch CTC grip, so if the old pull matched one of those two spacings the new grip lands on the same holes. The plate itself is 3-1/2 x 15 inches or 4 x 16 inches, so it will also hide older through-bolt holes that fall inside that footprint. Measure the existing pull hole to hole before you pick the CTC.
2) I have a Detex exit device on the door. Can I use a Trimco 1018 pull plate on the pull side?
Not as a device trim. The 1018 is a standalone pull plate assembly, not exit device trim, so it does not mount to a Detex chassis. For a Detex Value Series exit device you want the Detex P/PN Series pull plate, which is built for that device. Use the 1018 on the non-device leaf or on a plain push/pull opening.
3) I only need the push side of the door. What do I order instead of a pull plate?
A push plate has no grip on it, and the Delaney 3-1/2 x 15 inch push plate and Delaney 4 x 16 inch push plate cover the same two plate footprints the Trimco 1018 offers, so a push/pull pair lines up visually across the two leaves. The Trimco 1018 itself is a pull plate, combining a 1001 Series plate with an 1195 Series grip, and is what goes on the pull side of the opening.
4) What is the closest equivalent to a Trimco 1018 pull plate with an 8 inch or 10 inch center-to-center pull?
