The Trimco 1064/1065 Series Pulls are classically designed for pocket doors. For use with notched pocket doors, these pulls are perfect for closets, hallways, bedrooms and bathrooms. An integrated edge pull enables easy access when the door is closed into the pocket, and the 1065 Privacy version adds a locking feature for bathroom and bedroom applications and includes an emergency turn button on the outside. 1) Will the Trimco 1064 flush cup pull work on a 1-3/4 inch pocket door?
Yes. The 1064 fits both 1-3/8 inch and 1-3/4 inch doors as supplied, no modification needed. That covers standard commercial 1-3/4 inch leaves and the thinner 1-3/8 inch interior doors common in older residential and light hospitality work. The 1065 privacy version is the one that ships for 1-3/8 inch and has to be modified in the field for 1-3/4 inch, so if you are ordering for 1-3/4 inch doors the 1064 is the simpler part.
2) Does the Trimco 1064 pocket door pull need a notched door, or can it go in a plain flat door?
It needs a notched pocket door. The 1064/1065 pulls are made for notched pocket doors, because the integrated edge pull sits in the leading edge of the leaf. If your door edge has no notch, you either cut one per the Trimco template or you use a plain flush cup pull with no edge pull instead.
3) How do you pull a pocket door back out once it is all the way into the pocket?
That is what the edge pull on the 1064 is for. The cup pull sits flush in the door face, and an edge pull is built into the same unit at the door edge, so when the leaf is recessed into the pocket you still have something to grab. On a cup pull with no edge pull you end up fingering the door edge or leaving the door short of fully open.
4) Should I use the Trimco 1064 or the 1065 on a bathroom pocket door?
Use the 1065 on a bathroom. The 1064 is the passage version, a pull only, with no locking. The 1065 privacy version adds a locking feature and includes an emergency turn button on the outside, which is what you want on a bathroom or bedroom. For closets, hallways and any opening that does not need to lock, the 1064 is the right one.
5) Does the Trimco 1064 pull have to be ordered handed?
No handing to specify. The 1064 is field reversible, so the same part works whether the door pockets left or right. For a property manager standardizing across a floor of units, that means one part number covers every pocket door regardless of which way it slides.
6) What is the Trimco 1064 flush cup pull made of, and will it hold up in a hotel corridor?
Solid brass. The 1064 flush cup pulls are manufactured from solid brass rather than stamped or cast pot metal, and Trimco lists the series for hospitality, office buildings, and multifamily and mixed-use work, which are the traffic levels it is built around. Solid brass also means the plated and oxidized finishes are going onto brass stock, not a substrate that shows a different colour when it wears.
7) What finishes does the Trimco 1064 pocket door pull come in, and which will match my other door hardware?
Seven finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 613E dark oxidized satin bronze, 622 matte black, 625 bright chrome, and 626 satin chrome. Those are standard BHMA finish numbers, so if your levers and hinges are specified as 626 or 613, order the pull in the same number and it lands in the same family. Note 613 and 613E are not the same, 613E is the darker oxidized satin bronze.
8) How much assembly is involved installing Trimco 1064 pocket door pulls across a lot of units?
They come pre-assembled from the factory, so there is no loose-parts kit to sort at the door. Trimco publishes a template for the 1064/1065 series, T18989, which is what you mark the notch and face cut from. Pre-assembled plus field reversible is why these go quickly on a repetitive multifamily or hotel punch list.
9) Is the Trimco 1064 a commercial grade pocket door pull or a residential one?
Trimco classes the 1064 as commercial hardware, and specifies the series for hospitality, office buildings, and multifamily and mixed-use buildings. It is solid brass and pre-assembled.
