1) Does the Trimco 1098RG anti-vandal pull come with a cylinder core or keys?
No cores or keys ship with the 1098RG. The pull is prepped to mate with a BEST or PDQ small format interchangeable core cylindrical lock, so you supply the SFIC core and keying separately through your keying program. Plan the core and the lock as separate line items on the order.
2) What is the difference between the Trimco 1098RG and the 1099RG anti-vandal pull?
Astragal. The 1098RG includes an astragal; the 1099RG is the same pull without one. Use the astragal version on a pair of doors or where you want to cover the gap at the meeting edge and shield the lock line from pry attack. On a single door in a frame with no gap to close, the 1099RG is the one to order.
3) I have PDQ LFIC cylinders, not SFIC. Will the 1098RG work?
No. The 1098RG is cut for BEST/PDQ small format interchangeable cores. For large format interchangeable core, Trimco makes the 1098RGL, which is the astragal version prepped for PDQ LFIC cylindrical locks. Ordering the wrong one leaves you with a prep that will not take your cylinder.
4) What actually makes the Trimco 1090 series pull vandal resistant?
Three things. There is no exposed handle or exposed fastener to grab, pry, or back out. The body shields the exterior cylinder so it cannot be attacked with a wrench or pliers. And the shape gives nothing for a rope, chain, or hook to catch on, which is what stops the truck-and-chain pull-off attack on school and park perimeter doors.
5) Is the Trimco anti-vandal pull ADA compliant?
