They protect different things. The FG8000 frame guard goes on the frame itself and its built-in roller deflects the wheeled equipment away before it contacts the jamb. A door edge guard protects the edge of the door leaf, and a kick plate protects the face of the door. If the damage you're seeing is gouged and dented jambs from gurneys, beds or food carts, the frame guard is the part that fixes it. If the door face is what's taking the hits, you want a kick plate or armor plate instead.
