1) Which ramp extension size should I order for my Trine 4300?
Measure the gap between the latch and the keeper ramp once the strike is mounted, then pick the ramp that covers it. Trine lists three: 4300RX-25 at 1/4 inch, 4300RX-50 at 1/2 inch and 4300RX-100 at 1 inch. They are sold as individual sizes, not a set, so order the one that matches the gap you measured.
2) Can I use the 4300 electric strike on a fire rated opening with a cylindrical lock?
The Trine 4300 is a fire rated Grade 1 electric strike that works with mortise or cylindrical locks, and four common faceplates for cylindrical locks and deadlatches come with the strike. It is recognized to UL294 (6th Edition) and UL1034 burglary resistant, and it fits the ANSI A156.5 4-7/8 inch by 1-1/4 inch prep.
3) Will the Trine 4300 drop into the same jamb prep as a Von Duprin 6400 or an Adams Rite 7100?
The 4300 is built to the ANSI A156.5 4-7/8 by 1-1/4 inch faceplate standard, with an A115.1 cutout needing a slight jamb modification. 4) Will a Trine 4300RX ramp extension work on an HES or Von Duprin electric strike?
No. The 4300RX-25, 4300RX-50 and 4300RX-100 ramp extensions are built for the Trine 4300 strike keeper and are sized to that body only. If you are adding parts to an HES strike, HES publishes its own accessory offerings for the 1500 Series and the 1600 Series, both Grade 1 and fire rated. Von Duprin strikes such as the 4211 32D for cylindrical locks and the 6400 32D modular strike for mortise or cylindrical locks are Grade 1 heavy duty units with their own component programs. Match the ramp to the strike brand and series it was made for.
5) This is going on an exterior gate - can I use the Trine 4300 and its ramp extensions outside?
The 4300 and its ramp extensions are not outdoor rated, so an exposed gate is the wrong application. Camden builds the CX-ED1959 Series as outdoor rated electric gate strikes for exactly that use; note it is not fire rated, which is normally a non-issue on an exterior gate.
6) The 4300 ramp extension is for a cylindrical latch opening - what do I use on a rim exit device or vertical rod door?
Ramp extensions for the 4300 address latch ramping on openings using cylindrical locks and deadlatches, which is where the 4300's four included faceplates are aimed. Exit device openings need a different strike entirely. For rim exit devices, the Hager 2945 is a fire rated rim exit strike with field selectable fail safe/fail secure and a latchbolt monitor, and the SDC 30-4 is a rim mount strike for a 3/4 inch Pullman latchbolt in stainless steel. 7) What voltage and current does the Trine 4300 electric strike draw?
It runs 12 or 24 VDC and 12 through 24 VAC. On 12VDC it pulls 0.240 A at 50 ohms, silent and rated intermittent or continuous duty; 24VDC is 0.114 A at 210 ohms, also silent and continuous capable. AC operation buzzes and is intermittent duty only: 0.210 A at 12AC, 0.280 A at 16AC, 0.420 A at 24AC. Wired direct, red is common, blue takes 12DC and 12-16AC, brown takes 24DC. 8) My current strike keeps hanging up on the auxiliary latch pin. Does the 4300 fix that?

10) We need fail safe operation on our openings - is the Trine 4300 ramp the right accessory or do we need a different strike?
