Trine 323478F-LC-32D – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What lock does the Trine 323478F-LC strike work with?
Cylindrical locksets and deadlatches. It is not a mortise strike, so if the door has a mortise lock with an auxiliary deadlatch and a long throw latchbolt, this is the wrong body. For mortise, the Von Duprin 6210 or the Securitron MUNL mortise unlatch strike are the ones to look at.
2) Can I power the Trine 323478F-LC from a 12V or 24V access control panel, AC or DC?

6) I need the strike to unlock on a fire alarm. Will the Trine 323478F-LC do that?
No. It is fail-secure only, so cutting power leaves the door locked from the outside. If the design calls for a strike that releases on power loss, or you want the choice in the field, look at the Hager 2925, 2928 or 2930, all field reversible between fail safe and fail secure. Bear in mind fail safe on a fire door is usually not what the code official wants, which is why the fire rated Trine is built the way it is.
7) The lock on my opening is a mortise lock, not a cylindrical lockset - what fire rated electric strike should I use instead of the Trine 323478F-LC?
The Trine 323478F-LC is built around a cylindrical lock type, so for a mortise lock look at the Von Duprin 6210, a Grade 1 heavy duty electric strike for mortise locks with 24 VDC fail-secure operation and a UL 10C fire rating, or the Securitron MUNL Mortise UnLatch series, which is Grade 1 and fire rated.
