1) Is the Trine 323478LC a Grade 1 electric strike?
Grade 1, and it is built to BHMA A156.31, 2001. Trine's grading within the 3000 Series splits by model: the 3458 and 3478 are Grade 1, and the 3234, 3234W and 3258 are Grade 2. For an institutional spec calling out Grade 1 cylindrical strike hardware, this kit answers it. Alarm Controls AES-100, HES 310-1(X), and the Von Duprin 6400 are other Grade 1 strikes if the spec also demands a fire label, which this one does not carry.
2) Will the Trine 323478LC work with a cylindrical lockset?
Yes, the 323478LC is built for cylindrical locks. That is the whole point of the LC kit: the 234 and 234X faceplates handle the tight installs a cylindrical latch puts you in, and the 478 covers the wider prep. If the opening has a mortise lock instead, this is not the kit to buy.
3) Is the Trine 323478LC fail-safe or fail-secure?
Fail-secure. Cut the power and the strike stays locked, so the door remains secured on a power loss and you still get out from the inside on the lock's own latch retraction. If the opening needs to unlock on power failure (a stair door on a fire alarm release, for example), a fail-secure strike is the wrong choice. Hager's 2925 and 2928 are field reversible fail safe/fail secure if you need to be able to pick either behaviour on site.
4) What voltage does the Trine 323478LC electric strike run on, and can I put it on my existing 24VDC access control power supply?
