LC100 – (Round unit; Updated in 2010):
- This Model utilizes an external line conditioner (LC100) module to regulate input voltages, 11-29 AC or DC, and conditions the output for the pull-in activation period. Then reduces holding voltage output for continuous operation and reduced heat. The LC100 provides current and voltage surge protection and kickback protection. LC100 must be used and installed within 15′ of the mechanism.

Trine 30LC – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will a Trine 3000 Series electric strike work with my cylindrical lockset or deadlatch?
Cylindrical locks and deadlatches are what the Trine 30LC/30RS strike body is built to receive, and it accepts a bolt with up to a 5/8 inch throw. If the latchbolt on your existing lock projects 5/8 inch or less, the strike will take it. Mortise locks with a longer deadbolt throw are outside what this body handles.
2) How much frame do I need to cut for a Trine 3000 Series strike?
One inch of total backset is all the 3000 Series needs, which is why it goes into narrow aluminum door frames and into frame material that is hard to cut, like concrete-filled steel. Trine calls it the smallest electric strike series made. Mechanism spacers are available to increase the cavity depth up to 1/8 inch if your prep comes out slightly deep.
3) What is the difference between the Trine 30LC and the 30RS?
It is the failure mode. The 30RS is the fail-safe version, meaning it locks with power applied and releases when power drops, so the opening free-egresses on a power loss or a fire alarm drop. The other option is fail-secure, which stays locked when power is lost. Both are ordered off the same 3000 Series body, so pick the one your access control sequence and your local egress requirement call for before you order.
4) Does the Trine 30LC/30RS strike come with the line conditioner, and where does it have to go?
The LC200 line conditioner ships with the 30LC and 30RS, and it has to be mounted within 15 feet of the mechanism. Plan a spot for it during rough-in, in the header or above the ceiling near the door, because a longer run than 15 feet is not an installation Trine supports. The conditioner regulates the input, gives the strike its pull-in voltage and then drops the holding voltage for continuous operation and less heat, and it provides surge and kickback protection.
5) Is the Trine 3000 Series strike rated for a high-traffic entrance?
It is tested to ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1, with 500,000 plus life cycles and over 1,500 lbs of holding force, plus 70 ft/lb of dynamic force resistance. That is the top mechanical grade for electric strikes, so a main entrance or a stairwell door that cycles hundreds of times a day is inside what it is built for.
6) Do I have to worry about handing when ordering a Trine 3000 Series electric strike?
No handing to specify. The 3000 Series mechanism is a non-handed unit, so the same part goes into a left-hand or right-hand opening. That matters if you are standardizing a building and want one strike on the shelf for every door.
7) Can I use a Trine 30RS electric strike on a government or federally funded job?
Yes. The 3000 Series meets the Buy American Act and is made in the USA, which is what a federal, state, or public institutional spec usually asks for on door hardware submittals.
