Trine CCTS US4 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Trine CCTS cover the frame cutout left by an HES 1006 or Von Duprin 6200 strike?
Yes. The CCTS is sized to cover the gap when a Trine 4100 replaces an HES 1006, a Folger Adams 712 or 732, or a Von Duprin 6200 Series strike. Those preps are wider than the 4100's own faceplate, so the standard skirt leaves the old cut showing and the CCTS closes it.
2) What finishes does the Trine CCTS trim skirt come in?
Six finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 629 bright stainless steel, and 630 satin stainless steel. Match the skirt to the strike faceplate finish, since the two sit side by side in the frame and a mismatch is visible at eye level.
3) Do I need the CCTS skirt if I'm swapping one Trine EN Series strike for a 4100?
Often yes. The CCTS is called out for retrofits over Trine's own EN Series strikes as well as the competitor preps, because the EN cutout is wider than what the 4100's included skirt covers.
4) Does a Trine 4100 electric strike already come with a trim skirt, or do I have to buy the CCTS separately?
A trim skirt is included with the strike. The CCTS is a separate, wider skirt you order only when the included one doesn't cover the existing frame prep. On a new frame cut for the 4100, you don't need it.
5) Is the CCTS a strike, or just a cover plate?
Just the cover plate. The CCTS holds nothing and latches nothing. It's a filler skirt that trims out the frame around the strike, so you still need the Trine 4100 Series electric strike itself, plus whatever power supply and release device the opening calls for.
6) Is the Trine CCTS rated for commercial door use?
The CCTS is a commercial-duty installation accessory for electric strike work, not a residential trim piece. It's the part specified on multi-family, institutional, and commercial openings where a 4100 is going into an existing frame.
