1) Does buying this faceplate include the electric strike?
No. This is the faceplate only, an installation accessory for the Trine 4100 Series. You still need the 4100 strike body, and you supply your own frame prep and wiring.
2) What finishes does the Trine 4100 MLO faceplate come in?
Six: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 629 bright stainless steel, and 630 satin stainless steel. For matching existing openings in a building, 630 satin stainless is the usual commercial standard and 613 the common dark-bronze match.
3) I have a non-Trine electric strike that needs a new faceplate. What should I order instead?
Faceplates are series-specific, so a Trine 4100 plate will not fit another maker's strike. Match the brand and series: for Folger Adam 700 Series strikes there is the FP-700 standard and specialty faceplate line, and for Locknetics there are the CS Series CCFP-KIT, NC Series NCCFP-KIT, and MDS Series MDSFP-KIT-10B face plate kits. BEA also offers MS31 Series faceplates for its microwave touchless activation sensors.
4) Is this Trine faceplate fire rated?
Fire rating is not something to assume on a faceplate swap. If the opening is a labeled fire door assembly and you need a rated faceplate on record, the Folger Adam 700 Series faceplate line is listed as fire rated and Grade 1.
5) What is the difference between the Trine MLO faceplate and the Locknetics CCFP-KIT?
The Locknetics CCFP-KIT is a faceplate kit for the CS Series and is supplied in stainless steel or dark bronze. The Trine MLO faceplate serves the Trine 4100 electric strike series in a 4-7/8 inch by 1-1/4 inch size with an offset cavity, and comes in six finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 629 bright stainless steel, and 630 satin stainless steel.
6) A BEA MS31 faceplate came up when I searched for faceplates - is that an alternative to the Trine 4100 plate?
No. The BEA MS31 Series faceplates house a microwave motion sensor for touchless activation, so they are a door activation device rather than a strike part. The Trine MLO faceplate covers the cavity on a Trine 4100 electric strike and measures 4-7/8 inch by 1-1/4 inch with an offset cavity. The two do different jobs and are not interchangeable.
7) Is this faceplate for commercial or residential doors?
Commercial. The 4100 MLO faceplate is a commercial door hardware installation accessory, sold as a component for 4100 Series electric strikes rather than a complete strike.
