1) Does the Von Duprin 360L-BE-LAT lever trim need to be ordered handed?
Yes, handing is a required choice on the 360L-BE-LAT. It's built in Left Hand Reverse and Right Hand Reverse only, which are the two handings exit devices use on outswing doors. Determine the hand from outside the door: standing on the pull side of an outswing opening, if the hinges are on your right it's right hand reverse, hinges on the left is left hand reverse. Order the wrong hand and the lever will point the wrong way on the escutcheon.
2) What does passage function mean on the Von Duprin 360L lever trim, and will it lock?
Passage function means the lever always retracts the latch. There is no cylinder, no key, and no locking from the outside. The 360L-BE-LAT is for openings where you want the exit device to hold the door closed but let anyone pull it open from the outside. If the outside face needs to be secured or key controlled, this is the wrong trim, you need a keyed or night latch lever trim instead.
3) Is the escutcheon plate included with the 360L-BE-LAT, or is that a separate part?
The escutcheon ships with it. The 360L-BE-LAT is a complete trim assembly, Latitude lever plus a matching escutcheon in the same finish, so you get a finished plate on the door face without sourcing the escutcheon separately.
