WAC Lighting WAC-WS-W39310 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Argo WS-W39310 wall light mount over an existing round pancake junction box?
Yes. The Argo WS-W39310 uses WAC's ACLED technology, so there is no remote driver or transformer to find room for, and it installs directly over a standard or pancake junction box. It is hardwired at 120V. The fixture body measures 10.38 inches by 5 inches, so it covers a standard box footprint with room to spare.
2) Is the Argo WS-W39310 rated for a fully exposed exterior wall with no overhang?
It carries a Wet location rating and an IP65 rating alongside ETL and cETL listings, so direct rain exposure on an open wall is within spec. The housing is solid aluminum with polycarbonate diffusers rather than glass.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Argo WS-W39310 LED wall light?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Those are the two control types this fixture is built for, and it dims smoothly and continuously on either. A 0-10V control or a standard incandescent-only slide outside those types is the wrong pairing here.
4) Will the Argo WS-W39310 work in an ADA-required corridor or along a path of travel?
No. The Argo WS-W39310 is not ADA compliant, so it should not be specified where a wall fixture has to stay within the protruding-object limits of an accessible route or corridor. For those locations, pick a low-projection ADA-rated sconce instead. On an open building facade or entry wall outside a path of travel, it is fine.
5) Can the Argo WS-W39310 be installed sideways or upside down, or does it have a fixed up/down orientation?
Mounting orientation is open. The Argo 10.38 inch wall light can be installed in any orientation on the wall, and because it is etched on five sides the light output stays uniform however you turn it. That makes it usable as an uplight, downlight, or horizontal band without ordering a different part.
6) Does the Argo WS-W39310 meet California Title 24 for outdoor residential lighting?
Yes, it is listed as Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant. Worth noting for spec work: it is not Energy Star rated, so if your program requires Energy Star specifically rather than Title 24, this is not the fixture for it.
7) Are the LEDs replaceable in the WAC Argo WS-W39310, or is the whole fixture disposable?
The LED source is integrated, not a lamp in a socket, so there is no bulb to change out. It is supplied with the light engine in place and rated for an average 60,000 hours. For MRO planning, treat it as a fixture-level replacement at end of life rather than a relamp.
8) What finish and color temperature does the WS-W39310 come in?
One configuration: black finish, 3000K. The orderable part number is WS-W39310-BK. If you are matching a building already running 3000K exterior fixtures, it drops straight in on color.
9) Can the Argo WS-W39310 be used indoors as well as outside?
It is rated for both indoor and outdoor use. The wet rating that covers an exposed exterior wall also makes it valid for indoor damp spots like a covered pool enclosure or a shower-adjacent wall, and the solid aluminum body with polycarbonate diffusers holds up to washdown environments better than a glass shade.
