1) Can the WAC Lighting Slant LED wall light mount on a pancake junction box?
Yes. The Slant runs on 120V AC LED technology with no separate driver or transformer, so the backplate fits on a pancake junction box. Backplate is 5 inches, and the fixture measures 10.63 inches high by 5 inches wide, hardwired only.
2) Is the Slant outdoor sconce rated for a wet location like an unprotected entry or a pool deck wall?
Wet location rated and IP65, with ETL and cETL certification, so direct rain exposure is fine. Aluminum base and etched opal glass. It is listed for indoor or outdoor use, so the same fixture can carry a corridor and an exterior entry.
3) What dimmer do I need for the WAC Slant LED wall sconce?
An electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The Slant dims smoothly and continuously on ELV; a standard incandescent or MLV wall dimmer is the wrong control for it. Spec the ELV dimmer at the same time you spec the fixture.
4) Will the Slant sconce pass a California Title 24 inspection?
Yes, the Slant is Title 24 compliant and also meets Title 20. It is an integrated LED drawing 7W at 440 lumens, 3000K, which is why it clears the residential outdoor lighting requirements without an added control beyond what the code calls for.
5) Can the Slant wall light be mounted upside down for uplight instead of downlight?
Yes. The aluminum hardware rotates 180 degrees, so the fixture can be mounted vertically or inverted. Mounting method is wall, up or down. Out of the box it throws focused down lighting, which is what makes it Dark Sky Friendly when aimed down.
6) Does the WAC Slant come in any color temperature or finish other than 3000K black?
As a stock item the Slant ships in black at 3000K. WAC lists 277V, 240V, or custom CCT as special order options, and the Slant collection is also offered in brushed aluminum. For a standard order, expect the black 3000K build, model WS-W14911-BK.
7) Is 440 lumens enough for an apartment entry door, or do I need something brighter?
At 440 lumens with a flood beam and etched opal glass, the Slant is an accent and wayfinding light, good for a unit entry, a patio door, or a stair landing where you want a soft pool of light on the wall and ground. It is not a parking area or driveway floodlight. For broad site illumination, step up to a dedicated wall pack.
8) Will I have to relamp the Slant sconces, and what is the rated life?
No relamping. The light source is an integrated LED, included, single source, rated 50,000 average hours. There is no socket or replaceable bulb, so at end of life the fixture is replaced rather than lamped. For a property manager that means no lamp SKU to stock for these openings.
9) Is the Slant sconce ADA compliant for a corridor or egress path?
Yes, the Slant is listed ADA compliant, and its 5 inch width keeps the projection tight against the wall. That matters in interior corridors and along exterior walkways where protruding objects are restricted.
10) Can I run the WAC Slant on a 277V commercial circuit?
Not as the standard fixture. The stock Slant is 120V. WAC lists 277V and 240V as special order configurations, so a 277V building circuit needs the special order version ordered up front rather than the shelf part.
