1) Does the WAC Cylo 16 inch LED wall light need a separate driver or transformer?
No. The 16 inch Cylo runs on 120V AC LED technology with no driver or transformer required, so there is nothing to mount in the wall cavity or remotely. It is hardwired and mounts to a standard pancake junction box. 277V, 240V, or custom color temperature versions exist as special order only.
2) What size wall space do I need for the 16 inch Cylo, and will it cover my existing junction box?
The fixture is 16 inches high by 5 inches wide, with a 5 inch backplate. That 5 inch backplate covers a 4 inch round pancake box, which is what WAC calls for. On narrow pilasters or column faces, measure for at least 5 inches of flat surface.
3) Will the Cylo 16 inch wall light work on a standard dimmer?
Only with an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. On an ELV dimmer the Cylo dims smoothly and continuously. Standard incandescent or TRIAC wall dimmers are not the specified control type, so if you are standardizing a building, spec ELV dimmers at these locations.
4) Does the Cylo LED sconce meet California Title 24 and dark sky requirements?
Yes on both. The Cylo is Title 24 Compliant and also Title 20 listed, and it is Dark Sky Friendly, which matters where an ordinance limits uplight or glare. Note it is not Energy Star certified and not ADA compliant, so it is not the right pick for a code-restricted corridor projection limit.
5) How much light does the 16 inch Cylo put out, and how does it distribute it?
1683 lumens from a 20W integrated LED at 3000K, with a flood beam spread. Mounting is wall-mount with up/down light output, so it washes the wall above and below rather than throwing light forward. For entry doors and path-adjacent walls that gives even coverage without a hot spot at eye level.
