1) Can the WAC Nest WS-W26716 wall sconce mount over an existing junction box without a remote driver?
Yes. The Nest 16 inch sconce uses WAC's ACLED technology, so there's no separate driver or transformer to find a home for. It installs directly over a standard or pancake junction box and runs on 120V line voltage, hardwired. The backplate measures 7.5 inches, so confirm your box location falls within that cover area.
2) Is the 16 inch Nest sconce rated for an exposed exterior wall, or only a covered entry?
Exposed walls are fine. The Nest carries a Wet location rating and an IP65 rating, with a factory-sealed light engine and a die-cast, powder coated aluminum frame. Direct rain and wash-down spray are within its rating, so it does not need a soffit or porch roof over it.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Nest LED wall light?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The Nest dims smoothly and continuously on ELV; it is not a TRIAC/incandescent-dimmer fixture, so a standard forward-phase dimmer is the wrong control and will usually give you flicker or a limited range. Spec the ELV control at the same time you spec the fixture.
4) Does the WAC Nest sconce meet California Title 24 and Dark Sky requirements?
Both. The Nest is Title 24 compliant and Title 20 listed, and it is Dark Sky friendly, which matters on jurisdictions that restrict uplight. It is ETL and cETL listed for the US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated, and it is not an ADA compliant fixture, so keep it off walls where projection into a required circulation path is restricted.
5) How much light does the Nest WS-W26716 actually put out, and what is it suited for?
