WAC Lighting 12" Chelsea LED Swing Arm Wall Light

The Chelsea LED swing arm sconce is hardwired only, at 120V. There is no cord or plug, so each location needs a junction box in the wall. The driver is integral to the fixture, so no remote transformer or separate dimmer box is required.

Yes. Dimming is built into the fixture: an on/off switch on the sconce with a fingertip touch dimmer, driven by the integral LED driver. That makes it workable on a plain switched or unswitched hardwired feed, which is why it suits bedside installs where you don't want to run a dimmer leg to each side of the bed.

The Chelsea is a 12 inch fixture, 10.75 inches high, mounted on a 4.78 by 4.78 inch backplate. The arm rotates horizontally in both directions and folds back so the fixture tucks in against the wall or headboard when it isn't in use.

It is damp location rated with an IP44 rating, ETL and cETL listed, so it can go in a bathroom outside the shower or under a covered exterior soffit. It is not wet rated, so keep it out of direct spray and uncovered exterior locations. Bear in mind the shade is white linen fabric, which is a poor choice for a high-humidity bath regardless of the rating.

The LED is integrated and the bulb base is the driver itself, so there is no lamp to change. Rated life is 50,000 hours. For a hotel or multi-family spec, plan on fixture replacement rather than relamping, and stock the finish you standardize on.

No on both counts. The Chelsea swing arm is not ADA compliant, which matters in corridors and other circulation spaces where protrusion limits apply, and it is not Title 24 compliant. It does meet Title 20. For an ADA-restricted hallway you need a flush or shallow-projection sconce instead; the swinging arm is the reason this one does not qualify.

The backplate measures 4.78 by 4.78 inches, which covers a typical 4 inch round or octagon wall box. Note it is a square plate, not round, so on a remodel it will sit square to the wall and any paint shadow from an older round canopy may show.

1000 lumens at 9W, 3000K warm white, with a flood beam spread through a white linen shade. That is a broad, even wash rather than a tight reading spot, so pair the adjustable arm with the integral dimmer to set the level you want at the pillow.

Three finishes: Aged Brass (BL-83023-AB), Black (BL-83023-BK), and Brushed Nickel (BL-83023-BN). Color temperature is fixed at 3000K across all three, so the only ordering decision is finish. All use the same white linen shade.

Not handed. The arm rotates horizontally in both directions, so the same part number works on the left or right side of a bed, and WAC intends it to be installed on one or both sides. The fixture is wall mounted and directs light down.

The body is aluminum with a white linen fabric shade. The aluminum arm and backplate hold up to repeated adjustment, but the fabric shade is the wear point in guest rooms, so factor shade soiling into a hospitality spec.
