WAC Lighting WAC-PD-57327 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How low can the WAC Geometrix PD-57327 pendant hang, and what down rods come with it?
Hanging range runs from 27 inches minimum to 140 inches maximum. It ships with three 12 inch down rods and one 6 inch rod, plus 150 inches of wire. Stacking all four rods gets you most of the way to the maximum; additional down rods are sold separately if you need more drop over a stairwell or a double-height space.
2) Can the PD-57327 Geometrix pendant go over a covered patio or in a bathroom?
Damp location rated, with an IP44 rating, so a covered porch, a breezeway, or over a tub or shower area is fine. It is not a wet location fixture, so keep it out of direct rain or spray.
3) What voltage does this WAC Geometrix pendant run on, and will it work on a 277V commercial circuit?
The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, so it drops onto a standard residential circuit or a 277V lighting branch in a commercial building without changing the fixture. Draw is 34.6W.
4) What dimmer works with the PD-57327 LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or a TRIAC dimmer. Those two give smooth continuous dimming. A standard magnetic low voltage or 0-10V control is the wrong pairing for this driver.
5) How big is the Geometrix PD-57327 pendant and what size canopy does it need at the ceiling?
The cube body measures 18.88 inches square and the fixture is 25.63 inches in overall height. The ceiling backplate is 9 inches in diameter, so you need a junction box and a ceiling area that the 9 inch canopy will cover.
6) Can I change the bulbs in this WAC Geometrix pendant, or is it a sealed LED?
Integrated LED, no sockets and no lamps to replace. The 27 emitters are built in behind circular silicone diffusers and are rated for 50,000 hours average life. Plan on it as a fixture-life product rather than something a maintenance tech relamps.
7) How much light does the PD-57327 put out and what color is it?
2715 lumens at 3000K, a warm white. The distribution is flood and omnidirectional off the silicone diffusers, so it lights the room rather than throwing a tight beam on a table. Over a dining table or an island, that reads as ambient light, not task light.
8) Is the WAC Geometrix PD-57327 pendant Title 24 compliant for a California job?
Yes, it is Title 24 compliant, and it carries ETL and cETL listings for the US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not Title 20 listed.
9) Does the Geometrix PD-57327 come in any finish other than black, and can I get a different color temperature?
Black is the finish offered, ordered as PD-57327-BK, at 3000K. WAC lists custom CCT as a special order option through the manufacturer; the standard catalog build is the 3000K black.
10) Is this pendant hardwired or does it plug in, and how is it mounted?
Hardwired, ceiling mounted on a rod. There is no cord and plug, so an electrician terminates it at the junction box. The aluminum body keeps the weight down for a fixture this size.
