WAC Lighting WAC-PD-73128 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the PD-73128 Parallax pendant run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, so the same fixture works on a residential 120V circuit or a 277V commercial lighting branch without ordering a different version.
2) What dimmer works with the WAC Parallax 18 inch LED pendant?
Dimming is smooth and continuous on an electronic low voltage (ELV), TRIAC, or 0-10V dimmer. A standard incandescent/magnetic low-voltage dimmer is not the right control here, so spec the wall box or the 0-10V control line accordingly.
3) Can the 18 inch Parallax pendant go over a covered porch or in a bathroom?
It is rated for damp locations and listed for indoor or covered outdoor use, with an IP44 rating. That covers a sheltered porch, a breezeway, or a bath away from direct spray. It is not a wet-location fixture, so do not use it where it will take direct rain.
4) How much light does the PD-73128 put out, and is it enough over a kitchen island or small dining table?
The 18 inch Parallax delivers 1,758 lumens at 27.2W in 3000K warm white, with a flood distribution. At 18 inches across it reads as a decorative focal fixture suited to a small round table, an entry, or a seating area. For a long island or a big dining table, step up to the 26 inch or 38 inch Parallax instead.
5) Does the WAC Parallax PD-73128 meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is Title 24 compliant. It carries ETL and cETL listings. It is not Title 20 listed and not Energy Star rated, so if your project documentation calls for either of those specifically, this is not the fixture.
6) Can the lamps be replaced in the WAC Parallax pendant when they fail?
No. The light source is integrated LED, 28 emitters behind a polycarbonate diffuser, with no socket or replaceable bulb. Rated life is 50,000 hours, so it is a maintenance-free fixture rather than a relamp item. Budget it as a fixture replacement at end of life.
7) Can the light bars on the Parallax pendant be aimed after it is installed?
Yes. The light bars rotate, so an installer can adjust the arrangement on site to change the look and where the light goes. Each arm is lit along its full length. That makes it practical when the fixture has to orient to a table, a stair, or a sight line you can only judge once it is hung.
8) Is the PD-73128 Parallax hardwired, and what finish does the black version ship as?
Hardwired, ceiling mounted on a rod with a round canopy, so it needs a junction box and an electrician, not a plug. The black variant is ordered as PD-73128-BK in 3000K. WAC also builds the Parallax in brushed nickel and aged brass. Body is aluminum.
9) Is the WAC Parallax pendant ADA compliant for a corridor?
No. The Parallax is not ADA compliant, and as a 28 inch tall suspended pendant it is not intended for a protruding-object location like a corridor wall or a path of travel. Use it over furniture or in an open space where the drop clears head height.
