1) Can the WAC Vista WS-40720 vanity light be mounted vertically beside a mirror, or only horizontally above it?
Either way. The Vista WS-40720 is built for vertical or horizontal mounting, so you can run it across the top of a mirror or flank it with a pair on the sides. The driver sits in the backplate over a 4 inch junction box, and the backplate measures 6 inches, so the box location is what really dictates the layout. Overall the fixture is 20.38 inches by 3 inches.
2) Is the WS-40720 Vista LED light safe over a shower or tub surround?
It is damp location rated with an IP44 rating, so it holds up to bathroom humidity and splash, including a covered outdoor spot like a porch ceiling area. Damp rated is not wet rated, so keep it out of the direct spray inside a shower enclosure.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Vista WS-40720, and will a standard incandescent dimmer work?
You need an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. On an ELV control the Vista dims smoothly and continuously. A standard incandescent (forward phase / TRIAC) dimmer is not the right control here and can cause flicker or drop-out at the low end, so spec the ELV device when you order the trim for the room.
4) Will this WAC vanity light run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The Vista WS-40720 is rated 120-240-277V, so the same part number works on a residential 120V bath circuit and a 277V commercial lighting circuit, which is useful if you're standardizing across a hotel or multi-family property with mixed distribution. It is hardwired, not plug-in.
5) Does the WS-40720 meet ADA and California Title 24 requirements?
Yes on both. The low profile Vista housing is ADA compliant for wall projection, and the fixture is listed as CEC Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant. It also carries ETL and cETL listings for US and Canadian installs. It is not Energy Star rated.
6) Can the LED be replaced in the WAC Vista WS-40720, or is the whole fixture disposable?
