Linear architectural forms are accentuated from the up and down lights of the Icon outdoor LED wall sconce. Its shielded light source makes for low-glare illumination. 1) Will the WAC Icon WS-W54620 wall sconce work on a 277V circuit in a commercial building?
Yes. The Icon WS-W54620 uses a universal input voltage driver rated 120V, 240V and 277V, so the same fixture can go on residential 120V branch circuits or 277V commercial lighting circuits. It is hardwired, not plug-in, and draws 11W.
2) Can the 20 inch Icon LED sconce be mounted outdoors in rain and snow?
It is Wet Location rated and IP65 sealed, with ETL and cETL listings. Construction is solid die-cast aluminum with a powder coated finish and a factory sealed light engine, so it can go on an exposed wall, not just under a soffit. The same fixture is rated for indoor use.
3) How much wall space does the WS-W54620 take up and how big is the backplate?
The fixture measures 20 inches in height by 5 inches in width, with a 4.5 inch backplate length. On a narrow pilaster or between windows, the 5 inch width is what matters; the backplate is what has to cover your junction box.
4) Does the Icon sconce light up or down, and how bright is it?
Both. It is an up/down wall mount with two LED light sources that wash the wall above and below, total output 630 lumens at 3000K warm white. A white diffuser lens shields the source for low glare, and the beam spread is flood rather than a tight spot, so expect a broad wall grazing effect rather than a defined beam.
5) What kind of dimmer do I need for the WAC Icon LED wall light?
An electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The integrated LED driver dims smoothly and continuously on ELV control. A standard incandescent/TRIAC dimmer is not the specified control for this fixture, so spec the ELV device on the switch leg before rough-in.
6) Does this WAC Icon sconce meet California Title 24 or Title 20?
It is Title 20 compliant but not Title 24 compliant, and it is not Energy Star rated. On a California job where the exterior fixture has to be Title 24 compliant, this is the wrong selection and you will need a JA8 listed alternative.
7) Do I have to order lamps separately for the WS-W54620?
No. The light source is an integrated LED, included and factory sealed inside the housing. There is no socket or replaceable bulb, and average rated life is 54,000 hours. For an MRO stock plan, treat the whole fixture as the replacement unit.
8) Which finishes does the 20 inch Icon outdoor sconce come in?
Three: brushed aluminum (WS-W54620-AL), black (WS-W54620-BK) and bronze (WS-W54620-BZ). All three are 3000K and use the same powder coated die-cast aluminum body, so you can mix finishes across elevations of the same building without changing the light appearance.
9) Is the Icon WS-W54620 ADA compliant for a corridor or egress path?
Yes, it is listed ADA compliant, with a 5 inch width off the wall. That makes it usable along interior corridors and exterior walkways where projection into the path of travel is restricted.
10) Can I get the Icon LED wall light in 2700K or 4000K instead of 3000K?
Stock configurations are 3000K only across all three finishes. WAC offers custom CCT on the Icon by special order, so a 2700K or 4000K run is a factory special rather than a shelf item.
