WAC Lighting WAC-WS-13122 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the WAC Manhattan 22-inch LED wall sconce ADA compliant for a corridor install?
Yes, the Manhattan WS-13122 sconce is ADA compliant, so it can go in a corridor or egress path without violating protrusion limits. It is a hardwired wall-mount fixture on a 7.13 inch backplate.
2) Can I use the Manhattan LED sconce outside on a covered porch?
It is damp location rated with an IP44 rating, so a covered porch, soffit, or breezeway is fine. Direct rain or an uncovered wall is not - that needs a wet-rated fixture.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Manhattan 22-inch sconce?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer for smooth continuous dimming. A standard incandescent/magnetic leading-edge dimmer that isn't TRIAC compatible will flicker or drop out at the low end.
4) Does the Manhattan sconce meet California Title 24 for a residential or hotel project?
Yes. The Manhattan is Title 24 efficiency compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it carries ETL and cETL listings for US and Canadian jobs.
5) Do I need to order bulbs for the Manhattan wall sconce?
No separate lamps. The Manhattan uses one integrated LED module, included, drawing 16W at 1339 lumens and 2700K. Rated 80,000 hours, so there is no relamping - when the module ends its life the fixture is replaced.
6) Which finish and shade combinations does the 22-inch Manhattan sconce come in?
Three finishes at 2700K: matte black (WS-13122-BK), brushed nickel (WS-13122-BN), and brushed bronze (WS-13122-BO). The black hardware pairs with a beige textured fabric shade; the nickel and bronze come with a white fabric shade.
7) How big is the 22-inch Manhattan sconce on the wall, and does it light up or down?
It spans 22 inches wide by 18 inches high. Etched acrylic diffusers at the top and bottom of the fabric shade throw light both up and down, giving a flood distribution rather than a single-direction wash.
8) Can I get the Manhattan sconce for a 277V commercial circuit?
The catalogued configurations are 120V. WAC lists 277V for the Manhattan as a special order, so a 277V lighting branch circuit needs that special-order version rather than the standard 120V fixture.
9) Should I use the 22-inch Manhattan or the smaller sizes for a bathroom vanity versus a hallway?
The Manhattan comes in 7, 15, and 22 inch lengths. The 22 inch is the long horizontal run - suited to mounting above a wide vanity mirror or spanning a feature wall. For a narrow hall, a flanking pair beside a mirror, or tight wall space, the 7 or 15 inch is the better proportion. All share the same fabric shade and up/down diffuser light pattern.
10) Is the Manhattan sconce body metal or plastic?
Base material is aluminum, with a plated steel wall plate and angular arm. The shade is fabric, trimless, with etched glass/acrylic diffusers top and bottom.
