WAC Lighting 23.56" Vida LED Pendant PD-72724

A refreshing take on a traditional shape, the Vida pendant is crafted from high-quality spun aluminum, now finished in elegant black or white in addition to brushed aluminum. Inside, a powerful integrated LED array projects flawless light time and again. Energy efficient integrated LED's provide a long-lasting maintenance-free bright and even illumination.
  • Solid aluminum construction with a white PC diffuser for maximum brightness and even illumination.
  • Ultra-sleek electrified cable eliminates the need for clunky power wires. Height is simple to adjust through push pin connectors on the canopy.
  • Universal Voltage driver (120V-220V-277V) is concealed in the canopy.
  • Smooth and continuous dimming with an electronic low voltage (ELV) or 0-10V dimmer.

WAC Lighting WAC-PD-72724 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the WAC Vida pendant canopy cover a standard 4 inch octagon ceiling box?
The canopy measures 11.75 inches across, so it covers a standard 4 inch round or octagon outlet box with room to spare. It is a ceiling mount, hardwired fixture, so you need a box rated for the fixture load in place, not a plug in cord.
2) Can I use the Vida PD-72724 pendant on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver is universal voltage, 120-240-277V, and it sits inside the canopy, so the same part number works on a 120V residential circuit or a 277V commercial lighting branch with no separate remote driver to find a home for.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Vida LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer or a 0-10V control. Those are the two dimming protocols the integrated LED driver accepts. A standard incandescent or MLV forward phase dimmer is the wrong control here and will give you flicker or a dead bottom end.
4) Can the Vida pendant go on a covered porch or in a bathroom?
It is damp location rated and IP44, so a covered exterior porch, a breezeway, or a bathroom outside the shower zone is fine. It is not rated for wet locations, meaning anywhere it takes direct rain or hose spray.
5) Does the WAC PD-72724 pendant take a replacement bulb when the LED fails?
No. The light source is an integrated LED array, not a lamp in a socket, so there is nothing to relamp. It is rated for an average 82,000 hours, which is why WAC calls it maintenance free. For an MRO spec, plan on fixture replacement rather than lamp stock.
6) How much light does the 23.56 inch Vida pendant put out, and how many do I need over an island?
3,235 lumens at 43 watts, 3000K warm white, with a flood distribution off a white polycarbonate diffuser. That is enough that a single 23.56 inch Vida generally handles a modest island on its own, while a long run of counter is usually done with two or three spaced along the axis. The diffuser spreads the output rather than throwing a tight spot, so it lights the work surface evenly instead of pooling.
7) Does the Vida pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, the PD-72724 is listed Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it carries ETL and cETL listings for US and Canadian jurisdictions. It is not Energy Star qualified, so if a rebate program specifically requires Energy Star, this one will not satisfy it.
8) What finishes does the WAC Vida 23.56 inch pendant come in, and what is the shade made of?
Three finishes: brushed aluminum (PD-72724-AL), black (PD-72724-BK), and white (PD-72724-WT). All three are spun aluminum bodies with the same white polycarbonate diffuser and the same 3000K output, so mixing finishes across a space gives you identical light color and appearance from below.
9) Is the Vida hung on a rod or a cable?
Cable. WAC uses an electrified cable that carries the power, so there is no separate bulky power wire alongside a stem, and there are no rods to order or cut. The tradeoff versus a rigid stem is that a cable hung pendant will swing, so it is a poor choice under a supply register or in a high traffic circulation path.
10) Is the WAC Vida pendant ADA compliant for a corridor?
No. The Vida is not ADA compliant, and as a 23.56 inch diameter ceiling hung pendant it is not a wall mount fixture anyway. For ADA protruding object limits in a corridor you want a wall sconce with shallow projection, not this pendant.
