This ADA compliant outdoor sconce is offered in a matte black aluminum with a curved acrylic diffuser. High quality light with advanced ACLED technology and a superior 90 color rendering index. 1) Can the WAC Corte 24-inch LED wall sconce mount on a standard pancake junction box?
Yes. The Corte uses AC LED technology, so there is no remote driver or transformer to find room for, and it mounts directly to a pancake junction box. It is hardwired at 120V, and the backplate measures 20.25 inches long, so make sure the box lands centered within that run of wall.
2) Is the Corte outdoor sconce rated for direct exposure to rain and sprinklers?
Wet location listed, ETL and cETL, with an IP65 rating, so direct rain and washdown spray are fine. That also means it is fair game for entries, breezeways, and covered patios without switching to an indoor fixture.
3) Will this WAC Corte sconce meet ADA projection requirements next to a doorway or in a corridor?
The Corte is ADA compliant. It measures 24 inches in height and 5.5 inches in width, which is what keeps it inside allowable wall projection where a fixture sits along a path of travel. It is also rated for indoor use, so the same unit works on interior corridors and exterior walls.
4) Which color temperature should I order if I'm standardizing a multi-family exterior?
Three factory presets are offered on the 24-inch Corte in black: 3000K (WS-W15224-30-BK), 3500K (WS-W15224-35-BK), and 4000K (WS-W15224-40-BK). Order the one that matches your existing exteriors. Each unit also has a CCT switch inside the canopy, reachable during installation, so a field crew can shift the temperature without swapping fixtures.
5) What dimmer works with the WAC Corte LED sconce?
Use an ELV (electronic low voltage) or TRIAC dimmer. Standard incandescent-only or 0-10V controls are not the right match. There is no separate driver in the fixture, so dimmer selection is the whole story on the control side.
6) Does this WAC fixture satisfy California Title 24 for an exterior wall light?
Yes. The 24-inch Corte is Title 24 compliant and Title 20 listed. It is not Energy Star certified, so if your spec calls for Energy Star specifically rather than Title 24, this is not the fixture.
