WAC Lighting 28" Escapade LED Pendant

Behold the new Escapade pendant from dweLED by WAC. Available in a black or brushed nickel finish that is intimately intertwined with a complementary diffuser, weaving together two powerfully contrasting elements. The 28-inch long luminaire is ideal for lighting a dining table, coffee table or anywhere where you want to make a striking eclectic design statement. Superior Quality LEDs have a very long 80,000 hour rated life and deliver over 2200 lumens for robust illumination with a high 90 color rendering index and a CCT of 3000 Kelvin. The dweLED Escapade uses just 30 watts and operates on a 120-220-277 universal input voltage system. This LED luminaire is ETL and cETL listed for damp locations and California Title 24 rated to meet the highest energy efficient requirements today. Dims down nicely with an electronic low voltage or TRIAC dimming system.
  • An all steel construction with an acrylic diffuser, wrapped and twisted in a modern ring of frame and omnidirectional light.
  • Escapade is damp location listed - can be used indoor or covered outdoor areas. Ultra-sleek electrified cables eliminate the need for clunky power wires. Height is simple to adjustable with 120in of cable through push pin connectors at the canopy. Longer lengths can be special ordered.
  • Universal Input Voltage Driver (120V-240V-277V) concealed in fixture. Sloped ceiling compatible.
  • Smooth and continuous dimming with electronic low voltage ELV or TRIAC dimmer options.

WAC Lighting WAC-PD-31228 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What dimmer works with the WAC Escapade LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. The integrated LED driver is not compatible with standard incandescent 0-10V or line-voltage magnetic controls, so specify ELV or TRIAC on the panel schedule to get smooth dimming.
2) Does the Escapade pendant need a separate driver or a specific voltage circuit?
No separate remote driver. The 30 watt Escapade has a universal input driver concealed in the fixture that accepts 120V, 240V, or 277V, so the same part number works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting circuits. It is hardwired, not plug-in.
3) How much light does the 28 inch Escapade put out and what color is it?
3270 lumens from a single integrated LED at 3000K, a warm white, with a flood distribution and a 90 CRI. At 30 watts that is enough for one fixture over a dining table or a coffee table seating area. Color temperature is 3000K only, in both finishes.
4) Do I ever have to replace lamps in this pendant?
No lamps to stock. The LED is integrated and included, rated at 80,000 hours of average life. For a hospitality or multi-family maintenance plan that means no relamping cycle, but a failed LED or driver means replacing or servicing the fixture rather than swapping a bulb.
5) Will the Escapade canopy cover my existing octagon ceiling box?
The backplate is 9 inches in diameter, which covers a standard 4 inch octagon or round ceiling box and most patched openings around it. Overall the fixture reads as a 28 inch diameter ring only 2 inches deep, so the visible mass is the ring, not the canopy.
6) Does the Escapade pendant meet California Title 24 for a new kitchen or dining install?
Yes, it is listed as both Title 24 and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California permit inspection looks for on residential lighting. It is not Energy Star certified, so if your rebate program requires Energy Star specifically, this will not qualify for it.
7) What finishes does the 28 inch Escapade come in, and what is the shade made of?
Two finishes: Black (PD-31228-BK) and Brushed Nickel (PD-31228-BN). The frame is steel, and the diffuser is silicone, so the diffuser will not chip or shatter the way a glass shade can, which matters for rental turnovers and commercial dining rooms.
