1) Can the WAC View WS-89128 vanity light mount on a standard 4 inch junction box?
Yes. The View 28 inch vanity light ships with a conversion plate for a 4 inch junction box, and it also fits directly on a pancake junction box since the 120V AC LED engine needs no separate driver or transformer. The backplate is 11.5 inches long, so it covers a typical round box with room to spare.
2) Do I have to pick the color temperature when I order the WAC View WS-89128, or can I change it on the job?
Both. The fixture is factory pre-set at 2700K, 3000K, or 3500K depending on the part number (the -27, -30, or -35 suffix), and a Tri-CCT switch inside the canopy lets an installer toggle between 2700K warm, 3000K warm white, and 3500K white during installation. Order the pre-set that matches most of your job so the boxes are consistent, then adjust individual rooms at the wall.
3) Is the WAC WS-89128 View fixture safe to install in a bathroom near a shower?
It carries a damp location rating and IP44, with ETL and cETL listings, so it is suitable for a bathroom and for covered outdoor areas. Damp rated is not wet rated, so keep it out of direct spray inside a shower or tub enclosure and out of uncovered exterior locations.
4) What dimmer works with the WAC View 28 inch LED vanity light?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer for smooth continuous dimming. Standard incandescent/magnetic low voltage dimmers and 0-10V controls are not the right match. The fixture is 120V AC LED with no external driver, so the dimmer wires at the switch leg as usual.
5) Does the WAC View WS-89128 meet California Title 24 for a bathroom remodel?
Yes. The View is listed Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California inspector looks for on residential bathroom lighting. It is not Energy Star listed, so do not use it where an Energy Star label is specifically required.
6) Is the WAC View wall light ADA compliant for a commercial restroom corridor?
No. The View is not ADA compliant, and it projects 7 inches from the wall, which exceeds the 4 inch limit for protruding objects mounted in the 27 to 80 inch range in circulation paths. Over a vanity inside a room it is fine; in a corridor or above a path of travel, specify an ADA sconce instead.
7) Can the WAC View LED vanity light be mounted vertically beside a mirror as well as horizontally above it?
Yes. Mounting is wall mount with up/down orientation, so the 28 inch bar can run horizontally over the mirror or vertically alongside it. Because it is back lit through an etched white acrylic diffuser and projects 7 inches off the wall, it also works as a backlighting element rather than a direct downlight.
8) Will the WAC WS-89128 work on 277V for a commercial job?
The View is a 120V AC fixture as stocked, and 277V or 240V versions are available by special order rather than field-convertible. For a 277V lighting branch circuit you need to specify the 277V version up front.
9) Do I need to buy bulbs for the WAC View vanity light, and what happens when the LEDs fail?
