1) Can the WAC Peek LED flush mount be used outside under an open soffit or on an exterior wall?
Yes. The Peek surface mount is wet location listed and ETL/cETL listed, with an IP44 rating, so it can go on an exterior ceiling or wall as well as indoors. It mounts to either a ceiling or a wall, and on a wall it can be aimed up or down depending on what you are lighting.
2) Do I have to order a specific voltage version of the Peek FM-W45205 for a 277V commercial circuit?
No. There is one electrical version. The driver is a universal input concealed in the fixture and runs on 120V, 240V or 277V, so the same part works on residential 120V and on 277V building circuits. It is hardwired, not plug-in. The only things you choose when ordering are color temperature and finish.
3) If I order the 3000K Peek, am I stuck with that color temperature?
No. Every Peek has a Tri-CCT switch inside the canopy that toggles 3000K warm white, 3500K white and 4000K cool white. The fixture ships factory preset to the CCT you ordered (3000, 3500 or 4000), and an installer can change it on site before the canopy goes up. Practically, that means you can stock one unit and match it to adjacent openings later.
4) What size opening does the 4.88 inch Peek cover, and how far does it stick off the surface?
The Peek body is 4.88 inches in diameter and projects 2.5 inches off the mounting surface. It is a surface mount with a canopy, so it covers a standard box but does not recess into the ceiling. The 2.5 inch projection matters on a wall in a walkway, and the fixture is ADA compliant.
5) What dimmer works with the WAC Peek LED flush mount?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Those are the two control types the integrated LED driver supports for smooth, continuous dimming. A standard incandescent-only or 0-10V control is not the right match here.
6) Will the Peek pass a California Title 24 inspection on an outdoor residential job?
Yes, Peek is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant. It is not Energy Star rated, so if a program specifically requires Energy Star rather than Title 24, this is not the fixture for it. It also carries a Dark Sky designation for jobs with exterior light-trespass requirements.
7) Can I aim the Peek at a specific spot, like a grill area or a court, after it is installed?
Yes. The gimbal ring rotates by hand in the field and the beam angle adjusts up to 40 degrees, so you can aim it after wiring without pulling the fixture down. The beam is classified as flood spread.
8) Do I need to buy a lamp for the Peek, and what happens when the LED dies?
Nothing to buy. The Peek uses a single integrated LED, included, with no replaceable lamp or socket. Rated life is 50,000 hours; at end of life you replace the luminaire rather than a bulb, which is worth knowing if you are standardizing across a property and want the whole run on the same install date.
9) How much light and how much load does one Peek fixture add to a circuit?
