WAC Lighting 16" Hailey LED Flush Mount

The Hailey LED Flushmount is a versatile contemporary tapered circle of light with a choice of fabric and hardware finish combinations. Backed by strong character lines, it's a classic spin on modern minimalism. The hand-tailored fabric shade is available in a textured or smooth option, creating a soft glow with contemporary elegance when the fixture is lit. Energy efficient integrated LED's provide a long-lasting maintenance-free bright and even illumination. The Hailey flush mount offers a tapered fabric shade and an etched acrylic diffuser, punctuated by bold hardware - offered in black, brushed nickel and aged brass finishes. When ordered with black hardware, the white fabric shade is substituted for a gray shade. 16-inches in diameter, this piece is perfectly sized and shaped for modern minimalism in corridors or living spaces. Fine fabrics and hardware complement each other with a soft modern elegance.
  • Choice of fabric and hardware finish combinations: Matte black hardware with beige textured fabric shade or aged brass hardware with white fabric shade or brushed nickel hardware with white fabric shade.
  • Energy efficient integrated LED's provide a long-lasting maintenance-free bright and even illumination.
  • Equipped with a 120V AC input LED driver that is concealed within the canopy for easy installation over a standard or pancake junction box.
  • Smooth and continuous dimming with an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer.

WAC Lighting WAC-FM-53116 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Hailey 16 inch LED flush mount be installed over an existing pancake junction box?
Yes. The Hailey flush mount has its 120V AC LED driver concealed inside the canopy, so it mounts over either a standard or a pancake junction box with no remote driver to find space for. The backplate is 8 inches in diameter, which covers a standard box opening.
2) What dimmer works with the Hailey LED flush mount, and will it dim smoothly?
It dims smooth and continuous on an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Standard incandescent/MLV dimmers are not the listed control type, so spec an ELV or TRIAC model to avoid flicker or drop-out at the low end.
3) Will the white fabric shade come with the black version of the Hailey flush mount?
No. Order black hardware and the shade ships gray, not white, per WAC's substitution. The three combinations are matte black hardware with a beige textured fabric shade, aged brass hardware with a white shade, and brushed nickel hardware with a white shade. Order codes are FM-53116-BK, FM-53116-AB and FM-53116-BN.
4) How much ceiling clearance does the 16 inch Hailey flush mount need?
The fixture is 16 inches in diameter and 7 inches in height, so it projects 7 inches down from the ceiling plane. That matters in corridors and low-ceiling rooms; it is also ADA compliant per WAC's data, which is the figure to check against protruding-object limits on wall-adjacent or corridor installs.
5) How bright is the Hailey LED flush mount and what color is the light?
948 lumens at 15 watts, in 3000K warm white, with a flood distribution through the etched acrylic diffuser and fabric shade. That is general ambient light for a corridor, entry, or bedroom rather than task lighting over a work surface. 3000K is the only color temperature offered.
6) Can the LED be replaced when it burns out, or is the whole fixture disposable?
The LED is integrated, not a replaceable lamp, and it is rated for an average 60,000 hours. For a property manager that means no relamping over the service life, but a failed board means replacing the fixture. Nothing to order separately on install, since the light source is included.
7) Is this a hardwired fixture, and what is the housing made of?
Hardwired, ceiling mount only, running on 120V. The base is aluminum with a hand-tailored fabric shade over an etched acrylic diffuser. There is no plug or swag option, so a junction box and a dimmer circuit need to be in place before install.
