WAC Lighting WAC-FM-67116 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Vaughan FM-67116 flush mount be wired to 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The Vaughan LED flush mount uses a universal input driver rated 120-240-277V, concealed inside the fixture, so the same part number works on residential 120V and commercial 277V circuits. No separate transformer or voltage-specific SKU to pick.
2) Will the Vaughan flush mount mount on a pancake junction box in a shallow ceiling?
It will. The driver is built into the fixture body and WAC states it can be mounted on a standard or a pancake junction box, which is what you need where joists leave no depth for a deep box. Overall fixture height is 3 inches with a 16 inch diameter backplate covering the box.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Vaughan LED flush mount?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or a TRIAC dimmer. Those are the two control types the integrated LED driver supports, and dimming is smooth and continuous on either. A standard incandescent-only dimmer outside those families is not a match.
4) Can this LED flush mount go in a bathroom or a covered porch?
Yes, within limits. The Vaughan carries a damp location rating and an IP44 rating along with ETL and cETL listings, so it suits a bathroom ceiling, a laundry, or a covered exterior ceiling or soffit. It is not a wet location fixture, so keep it out of direct rain or an uncovered patio.
5) Does the Vaughan 16 inch flush mount meet California Title 24 for a multifamily project?
It does. WAC lists the FM-67116 as Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it is ADA compliant, which matters if you are using it as a wall sconce in a corridor. It is not Energy Star rated.
6) Can the Vaughan be installed on a wall as a sconce instead of the ceiling?
Yes. WAC states the Vaughan can be installed flush on either a wall or a ceiling, and it is ADA compliant, so at 3 inches of projection it works as a wall sconce in a path of travel.
7) What finishes does the 16 inch Vaughan LED flush mount come in?
Two: aged brass (FM-67116-AB) and brushed nickel (FM-67116-BN). Both are the same 3000K color temperature, so you can mix finishes across rooms without the light color shifting. Custom CCT is special order only.
8) Do I ever have to replace the bulbs in this WAC flush mount?
No. The Vaughan uses an integrated LED board, included with the fixture, rated 50,000 average hours, so there is no lamp to stock or relamp. For an MRO program that means no bulb SKU behind it, but a failed board means replacing the fixture rather than a lamp.
9) Is the Vaughan flush mount shade glass or plastic?
Plastic. The diffuser is white polycarbonate, not glass, over a solid aluminum sprocket-shaped body. Polycarbonate is the better choice in gyms, corridors, and rental turnovers where a glass shade is a breakage and liability item.
